A biomarker isan attribute that can be studied as an indicator of pathogenic and biological process along with pharmacological response to a therapeutic involvement. They indicate either normal or diseased function in the body. Biomarkers are particular molecules, genes, gene products, hormones, cells or enzymes. Tumour markers are produced from normal cells and cancer cells. Most tumour markers are proteins. Moreover, recently, designs of gene expression and reform to DNA have also begun to be used as tumour markers.
